If simply moving your own money between financial systems takes half a working day, then the infrastructure is not aligned with the principle that “time is money.”
This is not a complaint about effort. It is a design observation.
Many African financial systems were built in layers — wallets here, banks there, agents as bridges. Each system works independently. But the user becomes the integration layer.
When systems do not talk seamlessly to each other, humans compensate with time, transport, and physical movement.
That is not efficiency. That is friction disguised as normality.
At KiiBank, we treated this as an architectural flaw, not a customer inconvenience.

Instead of asking users to move themselves between platforms, we integrated directly with mobile money APIs so funds can be added into a KiiBank account digitally. No physical withdrawal. No branch visit. No manual bridging.
What previously required hours can now be completed within minutes.
The deeper issue is not speed alone. It is integration.
Financial infrastructure should minimise physical effort, not require it.
When customers spend hours performing what should be a digital transfer, the system is shifting its inefficiencies onto them.
We are deliberately redesigning around this principle: users should not be the middleware between financial institutions.
Banking should compress time, not consume it.
