The United States government, under President Donald Trump, has announced the expansion of a deportation campaign targeting Nigerian nationals the administration describes as serious criminal offenders.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced on Tuesday that 18 additional Nigerian nationals have been added to its “worst-of-the-worst” criminal register, bringing the total number of Nigerians now slated for deportation to 97.

According to DHS statements, the listed individuals have been convicted of offenses including wire fraud, mail fraud, and identity theft. The agency said the actions are part of a nationwide enforcement operation aimed at removing non-citizens who have committed serious crimes.
The enforcement drive follows an earlier announcement that 79 Nigerians were arrested and marked for deportation under the same policy.
